
D. Y. Patil College of Engineering and Technology Organizes “Dimension X” National Hackathon
D. Y. Patil College of Engineering & Technology, Kasaba Bawada, Kolhapur, in association with Google Developer Group on Campus (GDGC) and the Department of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, organized the innovative national-level hackathon “TechSprint: Dimension X.”
The hackathon was conducted with the objective of encouraging students to develop creative thinking, technical expertise, innovation, and real-world problem-solving abilities. Based on the concept of open innovation, the event provided a platform for students to design technology-driven solutions for social, industrial, and technical challenges using modern digital tools and emerging technologies.
The competition received an overwhelming response with more than 800 registrations from across the country. From these, 20 to 22 teams were shortlisted for the final round. The selected teams participated in an intensive 24-hour hackathon where they focused on project development, implementation, presentations, and evaluation by industry experts and technical judges.
Participants were given opportunities to showcase innovative ideas, collaborate with peers, and gain practical exposure to emerging technologies. Winning teams were awarded cash prizes worth ₹30,000, certificates, and special recognitions for their outstanding performances.
The initiative was led by Ayush Vasawade and coordinated under the guidance of the institution’s management and faculty members. The organizers encouraged students to participate actively and explore opportunities for innovation, teamwork, and technical excellence through such competitive events.
The event was conducted under the guidance and support of Chairman Dr. Sanjay D. Patil, Vice Chairman MLA Satej D. Patil, Trustees Kruturaj Patil and Pruthviraj Patil, Executive Director Dr. A. K. Gupta, Principal Dr. S. D. Bhede, Registrar Dr. H. V. Mhalde, and Program Coordinator Dr. S. V. Patil.
