
D. Y. Patil School of Architecture Wins Prestigious ‘LIK Trophy’ at National Architectural Heritage Documentation Competition
D. Y. Patil School of Architecture, Kasaba Bawada, Kolhapur, has brought laurels to the institution by winning the prestigious ‘LIK Trophy’ at a national-level architectural heritage documentation competition organized by the National Association of Students of Architecture (NASA).
The competition focused on the documentation of the historic Shahu Karkhana Office Building in Kolhapur, an important heritage structure representing the region’s rich architectural and cultural legacy. More than 90 institutions from across the country participated in the competition, with nearly 400 entries being submitted for evaluation.
After a rigorous selection process, the project presented by the students of D. Y. Patil School of Architecture was shortlisted among the finalists and was adjudged the winner, earning the prestigious trophy and national recognition.
The award-winning project was prepared by a team of 70 architecture students under the guidance of faculty members Prof. Shailesh Kadolkar, Prof. Dhanashri Pawar, and Prof. Tanya Vankudre. The students carried out extensive documentation, analysis, and recording of the heritage structure, demonstrating exceptional teamwork, research aptitude, and technical expertise.
In recognition of their remarkable achievement, the students were felicitated with the ‘L-I-K Trophy’ and a Gold Medal. The project coordinator, Atharv Kumbhojkar, also received special appreciation for his contribution to the successful execution of the project.
The college management congratulated the students and faculty members for this outstanding accomplishment. The achievement was appreciated by Chairman Dr. Sanjay D. Patil, Vice Chairman MLA Satej D. Patil, Trustees Ruturaj Patil and CHRO Shrilekha Satam, Executive Director Dr. A. K. Gupta, Principal Dr. S. D. Chede, and Head of the Department Architect Dr. I.S.Jadhav.
